1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III Serial Number 4329
We are pleased to offer 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III s/n 4329 GTE. Amazingly well documented from the day it was built on 15 March, 1963. Only one very meticulous and detailed owner for thirty years, from 22 July 1982 to today. Still in regular use and in amazingly good original condition. 250 GTE s/n 4329 GTE was the personal Ferrari of Bill Preston, the 250 GTE Guru, who published the 250 GTE Register from 2001 to 2011. A long time racing and Ferrari enthusiast, Bill Preston was also the Sunoco fuels and lubes engineer assigned to Penske Racing in 1966-67. Much better than a “barn find”, this 250 GTE is still a user-friendly daily driver and maintained accordingly. Complete with matching engine and chassis numbers and almost completely original. Extensive service records for the last thirty-four years are detailed below and included with the car. Routinely exercised and never off the road. Runs very nicely, good oil pressure, little smoke. Accident free. Excellent gearbox and syncros, overdrive works, all gauges operating correctly (except, of course, the clock). Brake booster just rebuilt and fitted with gleaming Borrani wire wheels and knockoffs with a near-new set of Pirelli P4000 tires. 250 GTE s/n 4329 GTE is ready for your next Sunday drive or the next Ferrari club rally. Older light silver metallic exterior paint shows signs of aging with only a few minor dents but no rust. Complete down to the original belly pans. The Series III “Big valve” cylinder heads were rebuilt with new valves, valve guides, valve seats and seals in 1998 but only 12k kms (7k miles) ago. The interior was re-upholstered in 1994 and still shows amazingly well with excellent leather, no tears, very nice carpets, dash pad and the headliner are still in very good condition. A study in fifty years of well-preserved Patina. Just completed a very detailed pre-sale inspection with a copy on file.
250 GTE s/n 4329 GTE is an excellent example of why we have specialized in the Enzo-era Ferraris for over thirty five years, since the days when there were only Enzo-era cars, and still proudly specialize in the Enzo-era Ferraris today. 250 GTE s/n 4329 GTE shows just how durable, bullet-proof and low maintenance the Enzo-era Ferraris were in the days before the drama of annoying engine-out cam-belt services or Italian electronics. Ready for your next local Ferrari club show and complete with the extremely rare original Ministero Dei Transporti logbook dated 21 May, 1963 in the name of Aurelia De Gennaro and the International Motor Insurance Card booklet in the name of Fabio Angeli dated 19 Oct., 1968. Comes with two sets of keys and a new set of jack hole plugs. Fly in for a personal inspection and test drive. We will pick you up at the airport in 250 GTE s/n 4329 GTE. This unrestored late “Big valve” Series III GTE will continue to provide enjoyment as a good driver or preservation award Enzo-era Ferrari and is too nice and too original to need a restoration.
