We are pleased to offer 1961 Ferrari 250 GT PF Cabriolet Series II s/n 2865 GT, an unusual and interesting “barn find” Ferrari. In 1961, 250 PF Cab s/n 2865 GT was sold new to a Mr. Von Rymenaut in Holland and traveled with Mr. Rymenaut to Morocco in 1964 for a movie shoot. In Morocco, it was sold to Daniel Amar, a businessman and friend of the Moroccan King, Hassan II. In 1966, Daniel Amar was given a new Ferrari 330 GTC as a gift from King Hassann II, and so 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 was sold to Tazi Hammed of Fez. In 1985, it was sold to Omar Bekkari, a pilot for Royal Air Morocco. 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT remained in dry storage with Omar Bekkari from 1985 to 2014, so twenty-nine years. In June of last year, 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT was inspected and sold to an American client and came to the US. With nothing but a quick clean-up and tune-up, 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT was shown on the lawn at both the Cavallino Classic and at Mar Lago in January of this year.

250 PF Cab s/n 2865 GT has what we believe are all matching engine, transmission and differential numbers and scored 80 points when shown at Cavallino in January, impressive for a barn find Ferrari. With a sympathetic mechanical restoration, 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT can be the best priced “driver level” 250 PF Cabriolet on the market today, and a great open Ferrari for the Colorado Grand and other touring events. Because 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT has been off the road and stored for three decades (in what can only be described as one of the driest climate on the planet), there are none of the usual rust problems, old sheet metal damage, old inner front panel damage or old rear inner structure damage usually found on higher-mileage, multi-owner, forty-five year old Enzo-era Ferraris. Cosmetically, only the covered headlights are not original. As the 143rd 250 PF Series II Cabriolet built, it is fitted with Koni tube shocks as opposed to the earlier lever action shocks, making it the best handling of the 250 PF Cabriolets.

For those who want to do a complete restoration for the show circuit, 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT was delivered new in Verniciatura grigio conchiglia MM 16249 (shell grey) with Interno plastico e pelle rosso 3171 (dark red leather), a very elegant, attractive and period correct color combination. As an un-molested long-term barn find, 250 PF Cabriolet s/n 2865 GT has all of the original components that are usually missing, such as the original short-wave Blaupunkt radio, the correct riveted aluminum belly pan and inspection plate and the correct and original exhaust. Only the air horns are not original. Comes with the Arabic Moroccan plates plus copies of the Moroccan title work, copies of the US Customs importation paperwork and a current Montana title and plates. Fly in for an inspection, you will not be disappointed. Priced right at $1,499,950 or best offer.
