Originally introduced in 2004, the 612 Scaglietti became the first V-12 Ferrari to use a state-of-the-art aluminum space frame chassis and body. The four-cam, 5.7-liter engine kicked out 540 bhp at 7,400 rpm and gave a where-will-you-ever-go-this-fast 198.8 mph. With the engine fitted behind the front axle line and the rear mounted transaxle, 54 percent of the weight is over the back wheels making the 612 fast, user-friendly and wonderfully balanced. Thanks to state-of-the-art luxury features such as dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable seats and head rests, a reverse-sensing warning system and adjustable automatic headlights, the 612 was, and still is, both sumptuous and fast. Named for the legendary coachbuilder Scaglietti, the 612s have incredible presence, enhanced by the evocative scalloped side panels that recall the famous Bergman/Rossellini 375MM.
As a later 2009 612 Scaglietti One To One, s/n 165725 is also fitted with the electrochromic panoramic roof which covers the entire top of the cabin, allowing adjustment of the levels of sunlight allowed into the cabin at the touch of a button; the updated Superfast F1 transmission, which gives an exceptional gear-shifting time of 100 milliseconds; a light-weight double-disc clutch to enhance the engine’s responsiveness; massive 380 x 36mm 6-pot calipers front and 360 x 34mm 4-pot calipers rear Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes with vented discs and a great sounding factory Sport exhaust system. The highly-optioned MSRP was $352,556.
612 Scaglietti One to One s/n 165725 shows very well and is in near-new condition. There are a few pinpoint paint chips as one would expect given a seven-year-old Ferrari. The interior is extremely nice in a very elegant color combination. The leather is outstanding throughout, with some very light wear in the usual spots on the driver’s seat bolster. The leather, which covers just about every surface (pillars, visors, dashboard, center console, door panels), is all in as-new condition. The color-contrasting seats are beautifully done and very striking, and the carpets are excellent. The Pininfarina designed 612 is a true-four seater with user-friendly rear seats large enough to be adult-comfortable, making the 612 the fastest four-seater on the planet when new, enhancing the usability of the 612s. The engine compartment is completely clean and dry, and the trunk is excellent, revealing the manual pack in its leather case, the tools in their leather case; the battery tender and the car Cover.
