We are pleased to offer 1986 Porsche Carrera s/n 122115. Introduced as a 1984 model, the 911 3.2 Carrera highlighted both the revival of the legendary Carrera name for the first time since 1977 and is the iconic last iteration of the original 911 series. Built from 1984 to 1989, the Carrera featured an almost-all-new 3.2-litre flat 6-cylinder putting out 217 bhp @ 5900 rpm giving a 0–60 mph time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph. Carrera s/n 122115 came very nicely equipped from new in paint code L700 Black with interior code LT black leather, the option code # 018 Sport steering wheel with elevated hub; the option code # 158 Blaupunkt Monterey Radio; the option code # 220 (40%) Locking differential; the code # 241 Short shift kit for the 915 transaxle; the code # 341 Central locking system; the code # 395 16" Fuchs forged alloy wheels, with the 6" front with 205/55 tires and the 7" rear with 225/50 tires; the code # 454 Automatic speed control and the very attractive and nicely integrated code # 473 front and rear “Tea tray type” spoiler plus a factory power sunroof. The combination of the Limited Slip differential, factory short shift, sport steering wheel and 16 inch Fuchs and the instantly recognizable sound of the normally aspirated Flat-six engine at work all make Carrera s/n 122115 a nicely optioned and very user-friendly 911 set up for sporty driving. Has all original body tags, very clean underneath. All invoices and a clean Carfax are on file.

As the last iteration of the original 911 series. the Carrera 3.2 occupies a unique place among 911s with its unique blend of classic 911 traits and more modern technology. Thanks to their early LE-Jetronic with Bosch Motronics 2 DME (Digital Motor Electronics system) the electronic components are quite simple, making these the last of the cars that can be consistently maintained by independent shops with minimal computer diagnostic tools. As such, they are in many sense the ultimate usable classic 911. Included among these traits are the instantly recognizable 911 styling cues, the traditional air-cooled engine, Fuchs alloy wheels, a torsion bar suspension and a galvanized body shell eliminating the rust problems of the early 911s. While Carrera 3.2s were built in great numbers, they are old enough and usable enough that nice examples have become increasingly difficult to find.

1986 Porsche Carrera s/n 122115 has had just three long term owners, the first in New York from 1986 to 2000, the second from 2000 to 2003 and then the last owner from 2003 to 2015. Carrera s/n 122115 came to us in a package with two Ferraris, all were excellent original cars, all had been in storage for a decade with very few miles added each year. An extensive detail was completed by Doctor Detail in Costa Mesa at a cost of $750 and any long term maintenance issues were resolved thanks to a detailed inspection and service by Auto Strasse (Formerly Porsche Strasse), the top rated Porsche service center for Orange County. The oil and filter were changed, the A/C was serviced, the condenser blower and temperature switch were replaced, the A/C was recharged with R12, the outdated alarm system was removed, both door locks were repaired, the brake fluid was flushed and a new coded ignition key was sourced. Total invoice $1,410.00.

Carrera s/n 122115 is a pride of ownership, matching-numbers example that was originally finished in the very desirable black on black color combination it wears today. The body and paint are in excellent condition, all panel fit is as-new, the interior, the dash and all glass and trim is in very good condition. The front trunk carpets are very nice and the engine bay is dry and clean. Still has the original spare wheel and tire. Carrera s/n 122115 drives exactly as it should, the chassis is solid and composed, the steering is tight and the brakes effective. The engine makes good power and does not use oil or smoke. The gearbox and clutch works very well, with excellent syncros and a light and easy to use clutch. Being German, even the clock works perfectly! The A/C blows cold, the windows and door locks all work correctly making for an overall driving experience that reinforces why these cars are legendary: solid, balanced, and above all, communicative. This is a great opportunity to acquire a just-serviced and inspected Carrera 3.2 Coupe in great colors, and with great options. Only the radio is not original. Fitted with an excellent set of Cooper ZEON 2XS 205/55 R16 fronts and ZEON 2XS 225/50R16 rear tires. The car is very complete, with its original spare wheel and tire, tool roll with tools and the jack. Has 80,631 miles, just serviced, ready to go, needs nothing and priced right at $44,950 or best offer.
