We are pleased to offer 1981 Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible s/n 03362, an amazingly well documented and nicely original driver ready to enjoy in the upcoming Summer season. Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 was sold new in Southern California and comes with an amazing stack of documentation, from the original internal Rolls Royce order forms through the selling dealer paperwork, warranty records, service records and a clean Carfax. Delivered new in Georgian Silver over black Mason with black leather and a black top to Roy Carver Rolls Royce, authorized Rolls Royce dealer for Newport Beach, CA 92660. Sold new to Dr. Neil Friedman, Huntington Harbor, CA (all warranty and service records are on file). In 1990 Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 was acquired by Mel Skolnik, Newport Beach, CA and with was Mr. Skolnik until 2000, going to Frantz A. Dengler, Schaefferstown, PA, Regional Chairman of the Board of the Rolls Royce Club, Pennsylvania. Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 was acquired from Dengler’s estate by the current owner.

The Rolls Royce Cornich convertible was a major marketing success for Rolls Royce, with 5,146 Corniche Convertibles built from 1971 to 1995. As a 1981 model, Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 has the longest wheelbase (120.5 in or 3,061 mm) for serene user-friendly comfort, and was fitted with Bosch KE/K-Jetronic fuel injection, allowing it’s under-stressed 6.75 L (411 cu in) alloy V8 to cruise effortless at any speed the owner might wish, in quiet comfort, up to 118 mph.

The body is straight, with consistent door, hood, and trunk gaps, and a solid door shut. The color combination is elegant and the older repaint shows well. There are the usual very minor chips one would expect on a thirty-four year old automobile. The bumpers, grille, window frame and brightwork are all in good condtion. The interior is elegantly trimmed to match the exterior in soft black leather with grey accents and black carpet. The front and rear seats are in good condition, but Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 was obviously parked with the sun on the right side, so there is sun damage to the passenger’s right seat upper corner. The dash, door, and rear seat wood are in good condition and the dash, door, and console leather are also in good condition. This car is fitted with a black canvas convertible soft top with some minor tearing at the snaps, and with a nice grey excellent headliner. Both the trunk and the engine compartment are in good condition and are completely stock. The underside is free of rust or repairs. The seats have the feel of an English Gentlemen’s private club, and the well-padded power top works effortlessly and doesn’t leak. Still has the 1980s style car phone!

1981 Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible s/n 03362 comes with the hard bound owner’s manual and a substantial collection of records from the delivery date forward. With Spring here and the Summer Season approaching, this will make a fun, top-down, weekend cruiser for sunny summer cruising in an iconic example of British motoring elegance. Few vehicles supply such iconic style and plush comfort, and at such a low price-point as the Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible II. Has 97,377 miles. Runs well, drives well. We photograph many interesting cars every month at a local park, and few collector cars have drawn more attention and flattering remarks than this Corniche convertible.
