We are pleased to offer 330 GTO Replica s/n 6689, a very-well-built and beautifully configured continuation based on both 330 GTO s/n 3765, which was a factory entry at Le Mans in 1962 and on 330 GTO s/n 4561 SA which was built for Ferrari board member Michel-Paul Cavallier. Neither the 250 GTO nor the 330 GTO needs introduction to automotive enthusiasts as the planet’s most historically significant and valuable cars. In 1962, 1963 and again in 1964 the Factory 250 GTOs won the World Sports Car championship. While ownership of a Factory original 250 or 330 GTO is far out of reach of those not amongst the first hired at Microsoft, beautifully built replicas with a Ferrari chassis and serial numbers, Ferrari engine and alloy bodies of the original style and construction type offer an opportunity to own and drive one of the world`s most important automobiles without the far-out-of-reach price tag or uneasiness associated with enjoying such a valuable car.
330 GTO Replica s/n 6689 was originally a 330 GT 2+2 and had known history from new, having been sold new in Italy in 1965, and imported to the United States in 1973. The 330 GTO body was built in 1987 by Allegretti in Italy, using a hand-formed alloy body made on the original body bucks. The chassis and the wheelbase are correct for the slightly longer chassis of a 330 GTO, and the body is quite accurate in terms of both dimensions and contours. The 4 liter engine was retained, and fitted with full competition components including six two throat Weber carburetors on high rise manifold. The engine was converted to dry sump, with both an oil cooler and accusump. The gearbox is a Ferrari 4-speed synchromesh transmission as was used by the Factory in 330 GTO s/n 4561 SA. 330 GTO replica s/n 6689 also has an ATL fuel cell and full integrated roll cage. Comes with both SVRA and HSR log books for vintage racing. 330 GTO Replica s/n 6689 is fitted with a Watts link rear suspension identical to the original Factory GTOs and so handles predictably and smoothly.

Cosmetically, 330 GTO Replica s/n 6689 is very attractive. The deep offset Borrani RW 3801 15 X 6 1/2 front and RW 3812 15 X 7 rear wheels are fitted with Yokohama Avio P245/60 R15 fronts and P275/60 R15 rear tires. The paint work is high quality and in very nice condition, with only a few very minor chips and nicks, most of which are confined to the front end. The correct Marchal head, fog lamps and rear lamps are fitted. The front and rear windscreens are Plexiglas. The limited amount of chrome is very good.

The interior indicates the level of preparation and competition mindset that was employed when this car was constructed. Thanks to full instrumentation, excellent copies of the original seats and interior trim and a nicely integrated roll bar, this car clearly means business. The instrumentation is correct for a competition minded car, employing modern more reliable gauges, except for the tachometer, which is an original Veglia item with a Ferrari logo on the face. The steering wheel is a smaller wood-rimmed like the original and the cockpit and interior are set up to fit a tall driver up to 6 foot 4.

The engine compartment also speaks to the functional competition-minded ethos of the car. The aluminum radiator is fitted with an electric cooling fan, and the filler has been relocated so that it is no longer necessary to use the access flap. One of the hood scoops provides air for the cabin with an electric blower, and the car has been fitted with an alternator. The oil fittings are Aeroquip with braided steel lines and there is an aluminum catch tank.

It is well-sorted, fully prepared and is ideally suited to event use as an aggressive street machine, as a serious vintage racer or as a cars and coffee showpiece. It comes with its original registration booklet (carta di circolazione per autovettura) and log books. 330 GTO Replica s/n 6689 starts instantly, runs well, goes through the gears smoothly, sounds great and goes like the proverbial bat.
