We are pleased to offer 1970 Dino (Ferrari) 246 GT “L” s/n 00744, a proven Platinum winning Euro model 246 GT. 246 GT “L” Model s/n 00744 has a known ownership history back to the day it was built on April, 1970 and is now restored in its original Blue Chiaro mettalizato (Silver-blue metallic) with 106-A-38/Beige 430 (tan) interior. Sold new in Italy and in Canada since the early 1980s. First shown at the FCA Nationals in Watkins Glen, winning Gold in 1996. Shown at Meadowbrook in 1997 and again at the Ferrari National meet in Toronto in 1998, scoring Silver. In 2003-2008 this 246 GT was treated to a down-to-the-bare-chassis and tub restoration, with a careful alignment of all body panels, bare-metal-up paint, and a full engine, transaxle, and suspension rebuild. Fitted with an all-new leather interior, carpets and dash. Shown at the Ferrari Club of America National meet in Toronto in 2008, scoring the elusive “Platinum”. Restoration invoices and copies of the ultra-rare build sheets on file, ask for copies. The “L” model 246 GT features a long list of unique body features including knock-off wheels, alloy door skins and outside door locks in the recessed air scoop. The “L” models also featured a lockable trunk button on the rear lid and unique door opening lights. The cockpit features heater and defroster controls on the center console near the gear lever; a wide glove box door; seat back adjusters as well as fore and aft adjustment on the seats; head rests fixed to the rear bulkhead, no package boxes on the inner-doors, a passenger grip handle, deeper foot well and a folding foot rest on the passenger side. The “L” models were built from s/n 00406 to s/n 01116, so only 358 were built. 246 “L” model s/n 00744 offers everything the Dino owner could want, a “Platinum level” restoration, instant entry onto the lawn at the National meet or Cavallino, the soft and flowing lines of the Dino GT and the sounds of the well-proven, low maintenance and high-revving V6; making every trip to Starbucks sound like a qualifying lap at Sebring.
