We are pleased to offer 1995 Ferrari 456 GT Cabriolet s/n 101250. One of only three 456 GT Cabriolets built by Straman & Company in 1995–97. A beautifully executed cabriolet conversion with flowing body lines, a neatly folding and fully–hidden power top and a very spacious rear seat area. This is the cabriolet that Ferrari should have built, and offers the enthusiast an opportunity to have a very unique and elegant coach-built Ferrari. Having sold thousands of Ferraris in the last forty years few Ferraris excite us, but this 456 Cabrio does. This is a great around–town driver with all the performance and creature comforts of a modern four seat V-12 Ferrari, a smoothly operating power top and the great sounds of a Tubi exhaust. This car is a joy to drive.
As the first of the modern Montezemolo-era cars, the 456 GT was first introduced at the FF40 Ferrari celebrations in Belgium in September 1992. Billed as the spiritual replacement for the Daytona, the 456 GT was better described as the heir to the 365 GTC/4, combining the looks and performance of a two-seat berlinetta with comfort and occasional seating for four. Based on a traditional steel tube frame, the 456 received an electronically adjustable suspension with three user-selected settings, as well as speed-sensitive power steering. Thanks to a dry–sump 5.5 litre V–12 putting out 442 hp @ 6250 rpm, this 456 GT has a 0–60 time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph, giving staggering performance with coach-built Ferrari comfort and luxury. Rod Drew at F.A.I. completed a $8,739.72 30k cam belt service, all fluids changed, and fine tuning of the pop-up headlights and headlamp motors just over a year ago, in April, 2014. There are also near new rear shocks and actuator, four Pirelli 255 x 45 x 17 ZR front and 285 x 40 x 17 ZR rear P Zero tires and a four wheel alignment with less than 1,600 miles. 456 GT Cabriolet s/n 101250 is also fitted with K40 radar, a Tubi exhaust system and Scuderia fender shields. This Straman–built 456 GT Cabriolet is an ultra–user–friendly, comfortable and practical Ferrari V–12 that is sure to leave a smile on your face every time you drive it. Having sold this 456 Cabriolet to three different clients in ten years we know it well. We are repeating ourselves when we say this is truly one of the most well–balanced and enjoyable modern Ferraris we have ever driven.
In a dramatic change from the over-styled and “busy” lines of the Testarossa and 348, Pininfarina designed and built the very clean and uncluttered 456 GT body. The cockpit’s focus was on luxury, with full Connolly leather, fully adjustable seats and easy-to read gauges. Air-conditioning and heating were up to world class standards, and the comfortable and quiet cockpit made long journeys easy – at least for front-seat occupants. The interior’s sense of refinement carried over to the driving experience. The V12’s output was seamless, ride quality was excellent and the controls were light. Thanks to its immense torque and smooth shifting six speed transaxle, the 456 GT is unquestionably the best bang for the buck in modern V-12 Ferraris, and especially for those who want to take small kids along.
456 GT Cabriolet s/n 101250 is finished in excellent Ferrari Rosso Monza paint, over a dent free body with very good tan leather. This four–seat Ferrari cabriolet was with its first owner from 1995 to 2005 and has only 18,652 miles. Comes with a well-documented ownership and service history from new, including the window sticker, all service records from new and Straman’s operating instructions for the power top. Complete with books, tools and leather tool case, and service records for the 30k service and for all recent work. This 456 Cabriolet is the best bang for the buck in a modern V-12 drop-top Ferrari, will pass any rational pre–purchase inspection.

1996, December, delivered by enclosed carrier to Straman’s shop in Costa Mesa, CA. Converted by Straman into a 456 Cabriolet. One of three cars done, s/n 100281 in black with tan was the first car. 456 s/n 100890, in blue with tan, was the second car. This car, s/n 101250, in red with tan, was the third and last 456 Cabriolet built by Straman. Cost of conversion in 1996: $50,000.
1997, June, cabriolet conversion finished at Straman’s shop. Picked up by the owner who drove it home to the Chicago area.
