description

With only 15 factory built 365 GTB/4C competizione Daytonas, there has long been a strong demand for similar cars both at the professional level when racing in period and today as club racers. S/n 13991 was built by Bruno Bori of Modena Sportscars in LA as a virtual duplicate of the factory built 365 GTB/4C s/n 16407 which finished second overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1979 with Morton and Adamowicz driving. 365 GTB/4C s/n 13991 features the same competition style, plexi-glass covered headlights, fender flares, and competition wheels as featured on the original factory built cars. It also has a front air dam, front spoiler, racing grille, lightened hood, outside door filler, rear brake boost, engine cold air box, lightened doors and trunk safety latches as the factory cars. This Daytona is also fitted with a much stronger updated roll cage, fire system, fuel cell, FIA approved racing seats, and much improved brake system from the factory cars. The Daytona engine is virtually bullet proof, even in racing specs, this engine has been rebuilt to full factory standards, as new. The transaxle case is the weakest mechanical link in the Daytonaโ€™s power train, so 365 GTB/4C conversion s/n 13991 is fitted with a newer and much stronger transaxle case and steel side plates and the โ€œshortโ€ 3:90ร—1 rear end gear. This Ferrari offers staggering performance, very low maintenance, stunning good looks, and a mechanical sound to die for. Itโ€™s the ultimate club racer and is eligible for the Ferrari Historic race series.

Now converted into a 365 GTB/4 C โ€œlook-alikeโ€ privateerโ€™s car. 1982-83, FOC roster listed by Jack Stewart, Los Angeles, CA. 1985, at Gary Bobileff’s shop in San Diego. Apart. In primer. Needing total restoration. 1985, sold to last owner. Los Angeles. 1985-88, converted into a 365 GTB/4 C. Has all the comp look-alike body and cosmetic features. Has alloy doors, deck lid and trunk bottom with very high quality body work, flairs, roll cage, rear spoiler, plexi-glass light conversion. Red with a large white stripe with blue and green accent stripes. All body work done by Mike McCluskey, Cobra Specialist, Torrance, California. Motor by Bruno with the usual competition cams, pistons, cold air box, Has the 9 X 15 front wheels and the 11 X 15 rear wheels. Has a rebuilt gearbox with the Factory 3:90 X 1 rear gear ratio. Has BIG brakes. Never been vintage raced. 1999, 20 Oct., spoke with the owner. Yes, still has the Comp Daytona s/n 13991. Has all the competition look-alike body and cosmetic features. Has alloy doors, deck lid and trunk bottom. Built by Mike McCluskey. Motor by Bruno with the usual competition cams, pistons, cold air box, … Built back in the late 1980s. Red with a large white stripe with blue and green accent stripes. Never been vintage raced. 2002, 25 Jan,. inspected by Mike Sheehan while visiting the ownerโ€™s race in Torrance, CA to photo the Maserati 200 SI. The 365 GTB/4C is an unusually nice example of a competition Daytona. Gorgeous paint and body fit. Fanatical attention to detail. Cosmetically Much nicer than the Piet Roelofs cars. As per the shop foreman, this car only weighs 2,450 lbs., amazingly light for a competition Daytona. The complete doors including the door frame, the door skins, and the door inner panels were made of aluminum. No door window frames. Full roll cage. Big brakes. The engine was done by Bruno in the late 80s, so about 425 hp. Certainly one of the best, at least cosmetically, ever built. 2002, 08 Feb., inspected and photographed in detail by M. Sheehan. The closer you look the better it looks. 2002, 11 July, sold to a client in Montreal, Canada. It will be raced in the US Ferrari Historic Challenge.
