We are please to offer 1967 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461, a late production Series II 330 GT 2+2 and # 1011 of the 1,086 total 330 GT 2+2s built from 1963 to 1967. From new in Blu Sera 20100 M (Dark Blue) with Pelle Rossa VM 3171 (Dark Red-Burgundy) leather. As one of the last 330 GT 2+2s built, s/n 9461 features the elegant Pininfarina dual headlight bodywork with fresh paint; a smooth shifting, fully rebuilt, front mounted, five-speed tipo 571/66 gearbox; a fully-serviced late two-mount 300 hp V12 engine as used in the 330 GTC; power windows; power steering; Girling ventilated disc brakes on all four corners and the late model’s hanging brake pedals with the much improved Dunlop brake booster. The Columbo 4.0 liter V12 powered 330 GT 2+2 offered an impressive 300-horsepower at 6,600 rpm thanks to triple 40DCZ/6 Weber carbs. This balance of power and performance was further coupled with elegant leather seating, a comfortable driving position, token rear seats for the kids, plenty of trunk space, the glorious sound of a V12 engine and effortless performance to just over 150 mph. When Car and Driver magazine track-tested a 330 GT 2+2 at the Bridgehampton race track in March, 1965 they wrote “If the Ferrari was a woman, she’d be about thirty-five with an athletic figure and sad eyes. She’d be a lousy cook, sensational in bed, and utterly unfaithful”.

330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461 was completed on 16 Jan., 1967 before going to Luigi Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, CT who sold s/n 9461 to an unknown first owner. S/n 9461 was next spotted and serviced in June, 1975 at Alan Duke’s Garage in Shavertown, PA. In 1982 s/n 9461 was with FAF Motorcars, (the Ferrari dealer for the Atlanta area) in Tucker, GA. From 1982 to 1985 330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461 was owned by Mark Blace, Cape May, NJ before going to William B. Hitchcock, Wilmington, DE and later to Mark Rubin, Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 2007 s/n 9461 was with Ed Waterman’s Motorcar Gallery, Fort Lauderdale, FL before going to Michael Schwabe in Westport CT who kept s/n 9461 from 2007 to early 2023. In Dec., 2023 s/n 9461 was sold to the current owner who had the convertible conversion done, a one-off hardtop made, a 410 SA style hood scoop fabricated and fitted, a complete repaint and $175,000 plus in over-the-top, Pebble-Beach quality service and update work done.

In April 2024, with the spyder conversion by Newport Specialty Cars completed, a new 400 SA style hood scoop was fabricated and fitted by ADC Enterprises, Ferris, Texas, 75125 at a cost of $7,875.00 followed by a complete repaint by Erik Chovanetz’s MC Bodyworks, Oville, Texas at a cost of $31,761.44. With the paint work completed 330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461 was given to Tim Taylor’s Red Car Restorations, Rockwall, Texas in early July, 2024. Between early July 2024 to March 2026, (a total of one year and eight months), 330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461 was treated to an obsessive-compulsive major engine-out service and a dashboard-out and windshield-out A/C service plus a complete rebuilt of every component under the hood or under the dash! The carbs and distributors were rebuilt, the cams were degree’d, the valves were adjusted, the A/C condenser and evaporator system were completely rebuilt. The transmission was fully rebuilt, the steering assembly and pedal box were rebuilt; the heater core and heater boxes were rebuild with their boxes painted, all new heater hoses were fitted, the fuse and relay board were rebuild and re-wired. The power window regulators, switches and wiring were rebuilt and re-wired, the engine bay was pressure washed, dry ice blasted and laser cleaned and stripped. Finishing work included a repaint of the engine bay and all accessories such as wrinkle finished cam covers and heat shields. The total service invoice from Red Car Restorations is minutely detailed and totals over $175,000. All service work is detailed by date and work done in the ownership history below. Today 330 GT 2+2 s/n 9461 is a unique, drop-top, numbers-matching Ferrari with a straight body and, thanks to the repaint by Erik Chovanetz’s MC Bodyworks, Oville, Texas she is free of the usual door dents and other imperfections found in older cars, with excellent panel fit and finish and tight closures from the doors, hood and trunk. The original chrome bumpers, headlight trim, various garnish molding, side mirror, and door handles are all in excellent condition. The nicely finished aluminum grille, chrome grille surround, and prancing horse emblem are also in excellent condition. The glass and lighting display no evidence of delamination, crazing, or distracting marks. The period-correct 15 X 6 1/2 Borrani RW 3801 wheels are mounted with a set of period-correct Pirelli Cinturado 205 VR 15 tires which gives a factory-correct stance to this beautiful drop-top 330 GT 2+2. The trunk houses a period-correct 15 X 6 1/2 Borrani RW 3801 wheel with a later model Michelin XWX spare tire. Tucked under the rear bumper, a pair of correctly angled quad tip ANSA exhaust are in excellent condition to factory specifications while delightfully echoing the glorious V12 sound and giving the distinctively tailored rear profile unique to the 330 GT 2+2.

The interior has obviously been redone some time in the recent-past and offers a perfect blend of elegance and sporting excellence, showing just the right amount of sheen to the leather, softened from years of careful use. The fit and finish on the inner door panels, center console, and top of the dashboard are very nicely preserved, contributing to a very cohesive interior, accented by warm wood tones on the dashboard and very light tan carpets which adds a nice spark of lightness to the interior. The original steering wheel features the iconic yellow Ferrari emblem flanked by the spoked aluminum and wood rim steering wheel which has been warmed and hued by years of enjoyable driving. The gorgeous high contrast instruments are beautifully finished with excellent color and luster, completing the ideal and iconic picture of Italian Sportscar motoring. S/n 9461 is fitted with what we believe is the original Becker Europa AM/Shortwave radio which has been rebuilt and upgraded with large and high-quality speakers fitted into the rear seat shelf.

Under the hood, the work done by Tim Taylor’s Red Car Restorations is better-than-new and features the original numbers-matching engine with rebuilt and replated components and hardware unique to V12 front-engine Ferraris of the 1960s. The triple Weber carbureted engine is capped with the correct air cleaner and air intake, factory correct spin-nuts, correctly contoured hoses, proper fasteners, and correctly applied hardware. The engine compartment is in as-new-or-better condition with the tufted diamond silver hood insulation pad, wire wound yellow hoses, correctly plumbed lines, and original manufacturers plates and labels. The underside of the car features its correct belly pan in good original condition and the underside is clean, dry and rust free underneath with finishes consistent with original cars of this era, correct components, factory ANSA exhaust and correct mufflers, correct suspension, and correct Girling disc brakes fitted with updated stainless steel brake lines
