We are pleased to offer 1968 Euro model 365 GT 2+2 s/n 11061 GT. This Queen Mother is presented in a unique “Speciale” configuration carried out many years ago by a California-based craftsman. 11061 GT is regularly invited to leading Concours, including The Quail in 2009. A very early example (#8 of 809), the car has a well-documented ownership history from new, with ownership documentation going back to the first owner, Giorgio Genesi, publisher of “Il Messaggero” and registered on Italian license plates, “Roma B 89463”. The second owner, who provided much original documentation to the current owner, imported the car to the US in 1971. After passing through several hands, the car was restored and modified in 1990 at a reported cost of $130,000.

The current owner of over five years has invested considerable time and attention to achieve both show quality presentation and highly satisfying driving performance, spending over $80,000 in cosmetic and mechanical improvements, using well-known Ferrari specialists. This has included an engine top end rebuild, brake system overhaul, clutch service, suspension and cooling systems refurbishment, and attention to all systems as required for safety and spirited performance. All aspects of the car are in asnew condition, as are the wood dash, the center console, all electrical components and the carpets. The engine, transmission and differential numbers are all correct and matching for this chassis. The attention to detail is fantastic, including working interior floor lights, engine bay lights, clock, electric windows and wind wings, powerful A/C and a period-correct Becker Mexico radio. The car sits on polished Borrani wire wheels with “asnew” Michelin XWX tires.

Last year, prior to showing at The Quail, the car was comprehensively repainted in a bare metal re-spray in an elegant original color option, Amaranto Metallizzato, over a mirror straight body, which complements the brilliant beige leather interior and new period correct tan carpets—a stunning color combination.

This show quality 365 GT 2+2 has been maintained at the highest level both mechanically and cosmetically with constant improvements and updates. The current owner drives the car regularly, including stimulating, trouble-free trips to Monterey, Palm Springs and La Jolla. This is a wonderful high speed luxury touring car, embodying the spirit of Ferrari when Enzo still ran the show.

As an award-winning, fully sorted Queen Mother, 11061 comes with the full set of books, leather owner’s pouch and the period correct tool bag and tool set. 11061 GT is currently invited to show at the Danville Concours d′Elegance on September 19th, 2010.
