We are pleased to offer 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 s/n 11199. This platinum–winning 365 GT 2+2 is only the 26th of 809 Queen Mothers made, and it’s a Euro–spec car, so no emissions equipment. This car has a build date of January 4, 1968, so it’s smog exempt almost everywhere.

This beautiful Queen Mother was restored about 10 years ago and so has excellent Nero paint over a very straight body. Recent interior and parts include a full new medium–red leather interior in 2006, stainless steel exhaust, new alternator, new clutch, new synchros, rebuilt CV joints, modern electric cooling fans, correct fuel lines, new engine mounts and oil lines. Recent rebuild work includes carburetors, front brakes, distributors and AC. Everything works including the clock and the period Blaupunkt radio. This Queen Mother even has the correct under–shroud under the radiator. S/N 11199 comes with the full set of correct Campagnolo 10–hole alloy wheels and a second set of four “star” Cromodora wheels, all w/Pirelli P4000 tires. Also comes with a full set of tools (except for correct pliers), tool bags, manual pouch, manuals plus other literature. Only 54,879 KM or 34,024 miles. This is easily one of the top Queen Mothers in the US. It has an extremely strong engine and pulls like a freight train.

The 365 GT 2+2 was built for the sporting enthusiast with friends or children and gives the quintessential 1960s vintage Ferrari experience with the last of the curvaceous Pininfarina–bodied grand tourers, powered by the final iteration of the Colombo V–12 two–cam engine. The interior is roomy, and will functionally sit two adults and two children for long distance touring. Indeed, the ideal use for the 365 GT 2+2 is long distance travel, as this car is equipped with air conditioning, power windows, power door vent windows and variable ratio power steering. This 365 GT 2+2 is a multiple award winner including Platinums at the 2007 and 2009 Reading (PA) Concours d’Elegance; a consistent 95+ point car and excellent driver.

1968, April, Certificate of origin issued. Italy ACI/PRA documents on plates Roma E 54536.

Then sold to Pino Monti, Forli, Italy.

1969, 29 Jan., sold by Monti to second owner Count Antolini Ossi, Bologna, Italy. Registered on plates of Bologna BO 365730.

1969, 18 Aug., Ossi moved from Bologna to Rome.

1969, 19 Aug., re–registered on new plates Roma E 54536.

1970, 19 Jan., sold by Ossi to third owner Lanificio Giuseppe Gatti S.a.s., Rome.

1970, 23 Dec., sold by Gatti S.a.s. to fourth owner Carlo Di Loreto, Rome, Italy.

1978, offered in the Ferrari Market Letter, issue # 0322 by Maggio. Burgundy with saddle interior. Pennsylvania title. Very fast & very strong.

1979, 25 Nov., offered in the New York Times by Maggio. Fitted with p/s, p/b, p/w, a/c, 5–speed, AM/FM/SW. Front brakes rebuilt, new clutch, new tie rod ends. 1992 – 1998, extensive renovation. High quality panel work & black paint. All new wiring & alternator; engine bay & undercarriage repainted; a/c condenser & compressor rebuilt; all trim re–chromed. Extensive records from 1988 to present indicate heads off, valve job 1988. Has both original alloy wheels (5) & recently repainted star mags with (4) new Michelin XWXs.

R&I cam covers, adjust valves, degree cams, replace quad rings in front timing covers, R&I distributors, install electronic pickups, re-time ignition, R&I carbs, rebuild and re-jet, fit new plugs, pull two gauges for sublet repairs, install new rear shocks and bushings, replace load levelers, repair power steering pump drive unit. New carb kits, cam cover gaskets, new rear shocks, shock bushings and rear springs, new spark plugs, oil, filters and battery. Sublet stereo installation. Total invoice: $9,709.81.
