We are pleased to offer 1974 Dino (Ferrari) 246 GTS s/n 08248. A very late production (May 1974) USA model Dino. Sold new to Joe Pisano, owner of Venolia Pistons, famed Funny car driver and Bonneville racer of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, who owned 246 GTS s/n 08248 until 1985. Then sold to the second owner, another well-known drag racer and winner of the U.S. Nationals Funny car Championship in 1985. Only two owners, only 24,097 well cared for miles and with the second owner for twenty-eight years. From new with Daytona seats, P/W, A/C and fitted with the very desirable Campagnolo wheels with the correct XWX tires. Just completed a detailed pre-sale inspection and passed with flying colors. 246 GTS s/n 08248 is as nice underneath as it is topside. Near perfect compression at 165lbs on all cylinders. All water pipes and hoses have been replaced and updated and the brake calipers have been rebuilt. Finished in excellent quality Rosso Corsa paint over a very straight body with nice older red leather Daytona seats and red carpets. Pulls strong to redline with very good syncros that go into 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear cold without a problem! Fastidiously maintained. 246 GTS s/n 08248 is complete and documented back to the original sales invoice of $19,195 on 24 Sept., 1974, copy on file! This 246 GTS offers everything the Ferrari owner could want, ready for the summer show circuit or sunny Sunday drives with the fun of topless motoring, the soft and flowing lines of the Dino and the sounds of the well–proven, low maintenance and high–revving V6 that makes every trip to Starbucks sound like a qualifying lap at Sebring. Mechanically maintained to the highest standards and very nicely detailed, this Dino is in excellent mechanical condition and needs nothing. Thanks to the documented ownership, low miles and complete books and tools this is a “time capsule” Ferrari with everything working as it should. Complete with the original leather carrying pouch, full books, the warranty card, the USA supplement, authorized dealer list booklet, the yellow wiping rag, all tools and tool roll plus the original and unused jack and jack bag. Has all service and parts records back to 1985, copies on file. Fitted with optional Campagnolo wheels and the correct Michelin XWX tires. We welcome any mechanical or body inspection, pre-sale inspection copy on file. Fly in, you will not be disappointed. Priced right and seriously for sale at $339,500.
