We are pleased to offer 1993 Ferrari F40 LM s/n 97881, the 15th of only 19 F40 LMs built. When new, the F40 LMs were built to IMSA specifications with 38mm restrictors and “a mere” 700hp, or with no restrictors to European GTC specification and 785 hp!

The F40 LM was fitted with huge 355mm Brembo vented disc brakes and lightweight 17–inch OZ Racing alloy wheels. Twin IHI turbochargers were cranked up to 2.6 bar (over the road F40s run at 1.1 bar) and compression went to 8.0:1 (from 7.7:1). Huge Behr intercoolers, new camshafts and an all–new engine management system with Weber Marelli IAW 072 controlling dual injectors per cylinder gave staggering performance. The F40 LM was good for 229 mph with a 0–60 time of just 3.1 seconds.

F40 LM s/n 97881 has just finished a cosmetic restoration and is ready to go. It is both cosmetically and mechanically “as–new” and would make the ultimate addition to any Ferrari collection. This F40 LM was built new in European GTC specifications and was quoted by Michelotto, when delivered to the first owner, at a staggering 785 hp.

We sold this car for the first owner and were with the car when delivered to Phillip Island racetrack in Australia. Having had an opportunity to drive this car on the very fast Phillip Island circuit, we can only say that there is no other GT Ferrari that can provide the sheer adrenaline power rush of an F40 LM, other than another F40 LM or F40 LM GTE!

F40 LM s/n 97881 is fully sorted, will pass any rational cosmetic or mechanical pre–purchase inspection.

Subject: Re: F50GT1 S/N 003

I believe that Noske lapped Phillip Island in the F40LM at around 1 minute 32 seconds. The 360 Challenge cars go around in about 1 minute 42 seconds. I think the lap record is 1 minute 22 seconds; but I am not entirely sure on that.

2002, 24 Feb., per D. Duigan, this car was at the Phillip Island Classic Motor Races.

2006, September, on consignment with Mike Sheehan’s www.Ferraris-online.com.
