We are pleased to offer the best XJ220 Jaguar in the U.S. 1994 XJ220 s/n 220628 is one of fourteen XJ220s kept by the Jaguar Factory as new cars and was delivered to its first owner, Gary Bartlett, as a “new” car in 1999. XJ220 s/n 220628 is the only Jaguar XJ220 to have its U.S. certification work done by Jaguar’s Whitley Engineering Center in Coventry and so has none of the under hood heat and overheating catalyst problems common to these cars. Prior to all certification and test work the engine was rebuilt by TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), Jaguar’s de–facto racing department.

Jaguar XJ220 s/n 220628 was featured on the cover of Autoweek magazine, January 08, 2001 and won the Grand Marshall’s Trophy at the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance, June 9, 2002. XJ220 s/n 220628 has just received a very comprehensive $34,000 service including a new clutch and all new tires fitted by the authorized XJ220 service facility in Muncie, Indiana. Finished in the classic Silverstone Green with a beige interior, 1994 Jaguar XJ220 s/n 220628 has only 7454 km (4632 miles) and is complete with all books, tools, first aid kit, etc, as delivered.

A very special Jaguar XJ220, the only one with its U.S. certification work done by the Jaguar’s Whitley Engineering Center in Coventry. S/n 220628. XJ220 Jag. One of last 11 of the 278 XJ220s built between 1992 and 1994. Production started in June, 1992 and finished in April, 1994. The VINs started at 220900 and decreased to 220617. Five vehicles were not assembled giving a production total of 278 vehicles.

Original selling price, $655,400. Powered by a twin–turbocharged V–6 with over 500 hp, the XJ220 is capable of over 200 mph.

1999, delivered to its first owner, Gary Bartlett, as a “new” car in 1999.

1999, 11 Aug., three days before the new law took effect, Bartlett filed his application to import under Show or Display. The application started a process that took seven months, in regular consultation with the DOT, and defined how Show or Display works for those who applied later.

2000, 01 Mar., Import Certificate issued under the Show and Display exemption was authorized by Marilynne Jacobs, the director of DOT–NHTSA. Show and Display certificate # SD00-001, so… the first car imported under Show and Display.

2000, February–March, prior to all certification and test work the engine was rebuilt by TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), Jaguar’s de–facto racing department. Dyno tested at over 600 hp. March 13, 2002, dyno tested at TWR dyno cell # 2 with 98 octane fuel at 605.9 hp @ 7226 rpm and 597.1 ft. lbs of torque. Corrected to 557 hp at 7226 hp and 549 ft. lbs. of torque at 7226 rpm on American unleaded fuel. Dyno sheets are available.

2000, March–April, U.S. certification work done by Jaguar’s Whitley Engineering Center in Coventry.

2000, U.S. EPA test submitted by Compliance and Research Services, Linden, New Jersey.

2000, 03 Oct., Car approved by the EPA and DOT under the Show and Display exemption. EPA release signed by Mark Timko, EPA.

2002, 09 June, Ault Park Concours d’Elegance, Cincinnati, Ohio, Grand Marshall’s Trophy; First Place—“Featured Marque: Jaguar Sports – Late”.

2003, 05 Feb., DOT release under Show and Display issued to current owner.

2003, 25 Feb., sold to current owner, Beverly Hills, Ca. Delivered to his home in New York and registered in New York with New York title, registration and license plates. Later shipped to the owner’s home in California.

2004, May–June, full “every ten year” service, including all new tires fitted because of age, all new clutch assembly, water and heater hoses and an “engine–out” belts and valve adjust service by Muncie Imports, the authorized XJ220 service facility in Muncie, Indiana. Final bill $34,259.67 plus trucking from California to Indiana and back.
