We are pleased to offer 2001 Bentley Arnage Le Mans s/n CX06540, a limited production example of a top-of-the-line Bentley, built to celebrate Bentley‘s 2001 return to Le Mans, after 71 long years. Indeed, in 1930, when a Bentley last raced at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, co-drivers Woolf Barnato and Glen Kidston had been victorious, winning the 24 hour race in the Bentley Speed Six “Old Number One”, Bentleys fifth Le Mans victory! To honor that return, Bentley built only 91 left-hand and 60 right-hand drive Arnage Le Mans, all specially enhanced, top-of-the-line, Arnage Red Label models. Identified by its LC code chassis number, the Arnage Le Mans was visually distinguished by exclusive quad exhaust pipes, “Le Mans Series” badges above the unique engine compartment vents in the front fenders, fat tires, wide wheel arches and unique bumpers. Le Mans s/n CX06540 is fitted with 5-spoke 18″ sport chromed alloy wheels over red brake calipers which are mounted on massive and high speed Pirelli P Zero 255/50 ZR 18 front and rear tires.

Only three special order colors were offered, Silver Storm, Black Oriole and Midnight Emerald. Arnage Le Mans s/n CX06540 is from new in the very dark Midnight Emerald finished with Tan Connolly leather seats with Spruce Green inserts, which also feature embroidered winged-B headrest motifs, plus matching kick panels and inserts on all four inner door panels, with color matching trunk carpeting. The Le Mans Series features unique instruments with a dark green background and “Le Mans Series” lettering on the speedometer and rev counter, which matches the custom console badge. The sumptuous interior also featured dark finished burr walnut with the Bentley wings etched in intricate detail and inlaid into the center console, dashboard and waist rails of the doors. The Le Mans Series also features exclusive chrome and leather design on the gear lever with drilled brake and gas pedal and unique “Le Mans Series” door opening sill plates.

Priced at over $235,000 USD when new, the Bentley Arnage Le Mans was luxuriously equipped with Bentley’s trademark mirrored burled wood inlays, a full leather interior, power seats, windows and locks, a power sunroof, cruise control, air conditioning and an Alpine AM/FM/CD sound system with an Alpine CD Changer. Bentley amply demonstrated the truth of the old saying: ‘there’s no substitute for cubic inches’, thanks to its turbocharged 6.75 liter (412 cu inches) V-8 engine with 400 HP, putting out an overwhelming 616 lb-ft of torque, enough torque to part the Red Sea, offering more thrust than was then available to any other production car on the planet. The power is exhilarating, a steady surge that begins immediately and continues to build. The Red Label may not have the eyeball-gouging leap of a Corvette, but it has the inexorable push of a jet on a runway. Maximum speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, easily making the Bentley Arnage Le Mans the fasted 4-door sedan on the planet when new.

With only 8,950 miles, 2001 Bentley Arnage Le Mans s/n CX06540 is an extraordinary two-owners from new motor car, winning a First in Class Award, in a field of 26 cars, at the 2019 Rolls and Bentley Owner’s Club annual meeting in Detroit. The look is powerful, from the mesh grill to the 18-inch alloy wheels, from the classic lines to the ceramic-coated paint that seems yards deep. We love Bentleys as they are both user-friendly and wallet-friendly supercars that put the Grand back into Touring, thanks to Bentley’s long tradition of hand–tooled craftsmanship, backed up with exceptional power and effortless performance. Any Bentley will take you to your destination in relaxed luxury, style and grace with speed and comfort to match, but will still leave you relaxed and ready-to-go at your destination.

Just about every surface (headliner, pillars, visors, dashboard, center console, door panels), are all in as-new condition. The seats are beautifully done and very striking, and the carpets are in excellent condition. As one would expect of a Bentley, the interior looks like a doctoral thesis from the school of tanning arts. The fit and finish approaches perfection, every seam aligns, every hide is flawless. The steering wheel is double-stitched by hand using one continuous piece of thread. Bentley handcrafts wood veneers from the finest natural materials and Bentley is the only coachbuilder to book–match their wood veneers, placing four successive leaves end-to-end to create a symmetrical pattern. Knurled bright–ware controls round out the craftsmanship. Needless to say the seats are heated and powered with memory and lumbar adjustment. The very comfortable seats make one feel like sitting inside a Coach wallet–you feel like money.

2001 Bentley Arnage Le Mans s/n CX06540 has only 8,950 miles and comes with all service records from new, the 1st in class trophy, cup and ribbon award from the 2019 Rolls and Bentley Owner’s club Meet, all four original service, warranty, dealer network and service schedule books plus the owner’s leather-bound operating manual, all in their leather carrying case.
