We are pleased to offer an amazing selection of original and well documented parts, most of which came from the Luigi Chinetti NART Team inventory. In 1977 the Chinetti and NART parts inventory were sold to Will Haible in San Leando, California. In the same time period Will Haible also bought a selection of original “take-off” alloy and steel body panels and parts from Stephen Griswold, the Ferrari dealer for Berkeley in the 1970s and early 1980s, who, at the time, ran the premier fabrication and restoration ship in America.

Today’s offering is the the hardtop which we believe came from 250 LWB California Spyder s/n 1055 GT, which last sold at the RM Arizona sale on 17 Jan., 2014 for $8.8m USD, but for whatever reason the hardtop was not included with s/n 1055 at the RM auction.

The hardtop is prepped and ready for paint but would require careful hand fitting to any other LWB or SWB California Spyder as all California Spyders were hand built with slightly different tolerances. It comes with the front latches but will need to have a new rear window made in glass or in plexiglass. The hardtop comes mounted on a small roll-around cart.

Both the LWB and SWB California Spyders used the same hardtops, but the hardtops very rarely come to market. With 250 LWB currently selling in the $8.m USD range and 250 SWBs in the $10.m plus range, a period hardtop is a rare addition to any California Spyder.
