Founded by American racer and engineer Ray McDowell, McDowell became associated with lightweight, purpose-built competition cars during the golden era of American sports car racing. Built in very limited numbers and often combining custom chassis engineering with powerful engines, McDowell racers reflected the ingenuity of independent American constructors. Today, surviving examples are exceptionally rare and valued by collectors for their competition heritage, craftsmanship, and unique place in American motorsport history.
