Introduced in 1962, the Ferrari 196 SP was a lightweight mid-engine sports prototype powered by a 2.0-liter Dino V6 producing 210 horsepower. Developed for endurance racing and hill climbs, it achieved class success at the Targa Florio and helped Ferrari secure the 1962 European Hill Climb Championship with Ludovico Scarfiotti.
