Introduced in 1978, the Ferrari 512 BB LM transformed the road-going Berlinetta Boxer into a purpose-built endurance racing car. Its 5.0-liter flat-12 produced approximately 470 horsepower, while extensive weight reduction and dramatically revised aerodynamics improved its competition performance. Developed for privateer teams competing at events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 512 BB LM became one of Ferrari’s most distinctive endurance racers of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
