Introduced in 1965, the Shelby GT350R was the competition-focused evolution of the legendary GT350 Mustang. Developed by Shelby American for road racing, it featured extensive weight reduction, competition suspension and brakes, aerodynamic modifications, and a race-prepared version of Ford’s 289-cubic-inch V8. Built in extremely limited numbers, the GT350R achieved significant success in SCCA competition and became one of the most important and collectible racing Mustangs ever produced.
