Model A s/n 2952 features an all steel body and fenders and has been refinished to a very high standard in a period-correct Washington Blue over excellent tan leather on the seats and door panels, with luxurious tan carpets nicely framed by a tan canvas soft top. The beautifully painted dashboard is fitted with a full set of gold rimmed Classic gauges. The odometer shows 510 miles which we believe is the actual mileage covered since the completion of the restoration and updates. Additional updates include windup windows, a tilt-out windshield, a single overhead windshield wiper and leather storage pockets in both doors. The trunk is very nicely upholstered with matching leather and carpet. The overall body work and panel fit is excellent and the two-piece hood, both doors and the trunk open, close and latch as new as showcased by the dark blue body and contrasting black fenders and running boards. The front and rear bumpers, the headlights and support bar, the grille, the cowl-mounted spotlights, cowl-to-hood trim, gas cap, windshield frame, top bows and landau bars and all latches, hardware and trim have been rechromed to a high standard. Lighting is improved thanks to the modern alternator, a 12 volt electrical system and modern headlights, cowl lights, dash gauge lights and tail and brake lights.

Power comes from a period-correct 201 cubic inch inline-four updated with a finned and red-painted Lion Speed Head II cylinder head fed by a downdraft Stromberg carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold, backed up with aftermarket four-into-two-into-one stainless steel header and a stainless steel muffler and exhaust. Model A s/n 2952 is also fitted with an alternator, an electric fuel pump, a 16-gallon fuel tank, a modern coil and an aftermarket distributor that eliminates the need for spark-advance manipulation on start-up. Power is put to the ground through a three-speed manual transmission, a modern CV equipped driveshaft by Driveline service of Portland and an original rear end. The 15″ steel wheels are finished in cream set off with polished FORD hubcaps and are mounted with modern 205/70 front and 225/75 rear BF Goodrich Control Plus tires. Model A s/n 2952 also features a Speedway Motors front drop axle mounted on a chrome-finished front leaf spring as well as hydraulic brake with stainless steel brake lines for real stopping power and tube shocks to eliminate the bumps and smooth the ride. The engine and engine bay, the firewall, gearbox, floors, chassis and suspension have all been fastidiously restored, are wonderfully patinaed, show the attention to detail and so are pristine.

Thanks to the 12 volt system the starter spins easily and Model A s/n 2952 cranks rhythmically before starting and settling down to a pleasant idle. For those unfamiliar with prewar cars, braking and gear selection requires some practice but after a few glorious miles of practice the mechanical experience results in an easy and unforgettable drive. The manual gearbox is easily engaged in part due to an updated clutch, allowing Model A s/n 2952 to pull very well in all gears while delivering a charming and engaging experience that delights all senses. When underway in a spirited fashion the engine pulls strongly through nicely spaced upper gear ratios. The non-synchro gearbox has a wonderfully light mechanical feel, rewarding an attentive operator with delightful results. The car is only for sale as the owner has run our of room for his many cars. The four spoke steering wheel needs to be refinished which we can easily have done. Model A s/n 2952 is not only beautifully constructed, it is a genuinely easy and pleasure to drive, well sorted and user-friendly for an elegant and romantic date-night, a top-down weekend drive or an early morning trip to cars and coffee.
