Founded in 1959 by Argentine racing driver Alejandro de Tomaso in Modena, Italy, De Tomaso built its reputation by combining dramatic Italian design with powerful American engines. After producing competition cars and the innovative Vallelunga, the marque gained international recognition with the Mangusta and especially the Pantera, which paired exotic styling with Ford V8 performance and became its most successful model. Later cars such as the Deauville and Longchamp expanded the company into luxury grand touring while preserving its distinctive character. Today, significant De Tomaso automobiles are sought after by collectors for their rarity, bold styling, performance, and unique blend of Italian craftsmanship and American muscle.
