The carbureted Ferrari 308 engine belongs to the Tipo F106 family of 3.0-liter V8s used in early 308 GTB and GTS models. Equipped with four Weber carburetors, the engine delivered the responsive, high-revving character associated with Ferrari’s early mid-engine V8 sports cars. These carbureted engines represent an important stage in Ferrari’s V8 development before the 308 series transitioned to Bosch fuel injection in 1980.
