Developed in 1999, the Ferrari 550 GT transformed the road-going 550 Maranello into a purpose-built competition car. Created by Michel Enjolras for Red Racing and assembled by Italtecnica, it featured extensive weight reduction, racing suspension, upgraded brakes, and a competition-prepared V12. As the first racing adaptation of the 550 Maranello, the 550 GT helped establish the platform’s potential in international GT competition and paved the way for later racing developments.
