We are pleased to offer 1967 Corvette 427/390 hp Convertible s/n 194677S104477. Well documented with forty-five years of title, registration, repair and restoration docs back to 1981 and with a single owner since 2014, so just over the last ten years. From new in Goodwood Green code # 983 with a White Stinger stripe nicely offset with a Saddle tan interior code # 420 fitted with the factory optional A82 headrests and a color matching matching saddle tan top. Powered from new with a numbers-matching Big Block L36, 427/390 hp cu. in. engine # 7104477 putting power to the ground through a M21 4-speed Close Ratio Heavy Duty 4-speed trans, a G81 positraction rear axle and P89 Cast Aluminum Bolt-On Wheels mounted with QB1 Red Line tires! The exhaust rumbles through the Factory N14 side mounted Exhaust. Chevrolet had stated the potency of the earlier 1965’s high performance 396 Big Block at 450 hp, but that number was quickly revised downward in 1966 to 425 hp due to substantially high insurance premiums. The later and slightly de-tuned 1967 427/390 was, in truth, an evolution of the tire-smoking monster developed from a series of special engines Zora Arkus-Duntov and his performance-oriented Corvette team had built while track testing the Corvette’s four-wheel disc brake system. The resulting 1967 Corvette’s four-wheel disc brakes had the stopping power to haul down the massive power and effortless torque of the Big Block 427.
1967 Corvette 427/390 hp Roadster s/n 104477 was completed at the St. Louis MO plant on 23 November, 1967 in 983 Goodwood Green with a White Stinger stripe nicely offset with a 420 Saddle interior. She was sold new to an unknown first owner but is well document from 05 Sept., 1981 when she was sold by Dr. Larry M Davis, 1441 N Delaware Indianapolis, Indiana to James Orem, 23961 Via Navarra, Mission Viejo, CA, 92691 for $8,000. Fast forward to 26 Sept., 1991 when a Washington title was issued to the same owner, James Orem, now living at 15625 SE 160th Place, in Renton, WA. 427 Corvette s/n 104477 next moved to Keith Allen Core, 8945 N. Cordoniz Lane, Casa Grande, AZ with a new Arizona title issued to Mr. Core on 20 Nov., 1996. Ten years later 1967 Corvette 427 s/n 104477 crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on 20 Jan., 2006 for $81,000.00 when sold to Robert Rand, 14465 Killarney Dr., Madera, CA, 93638.
Over the rest of 2006 Robert Rand had a photo documented frame-on restoration by Garlock Repair Specialists, 1919 E Holland, Fresno, CA 93726. The body was blocked sanded and painted to better-than-new standards in the original Code #983 Goodwood Green. All new door and window seals, all rubber items, moldings and emblems were supplied as documented by multiple parts invoices. The top bows were powder coated and a new canvas top was installed. Some time after 2007 427 Corvette s/n 104477 was sold to Marvin Rose, 5070 N Sixth # 180, Fresno, CA and on 09 June, 2014 was sold by Marvin Rose to the current owner. As part of a 20 car collection 427 Corvette s/n 104477 has seen little use but has been well maintained including work such as a complete brake system rebuild, a new water pump and other minor maintenance issues. The body fit and finish are very nice with correct gaping at the doors and hood line. The retractable headlight doors are smooth and fit very well, opening and closing per factory specifications. The gleaming chrome plated bumpers fit correctly and are properly aligned to the front and rear body contours, while the finish is in excellent condition. The chrome trim, badges, and various exterior elements are wonderfully finished, showing a fine luster, clean detailing, and proper fit to the body. Very clean under body and chassis. Complete down to the original U89 Delco AM/FM push button radio

427 Corvette s/n 104477 starts easily and settles into an explosive, big block, loping idle echoing from the side pipes. The throttle delivers a crisp rasp with every tap of the pedal, and a none-too-subtle rock to the entire car. The M-21 trans is precise, the clutch is progressive and pulls away smoothly thanks to the 427s massive torque. Once rolling the car shifts well and moves smoothly through traffic, even in southern California’s bumper-to-bumper traffic. Serious acceleration is awesome and demands the driver’s full and complete attention, thanks to the shocking amount of serious torque. Steering is precise while cornering and road holding is well-controlled and confidence-inspiring. The recently rebuilt Disc brakes are effective and offer a level of peace of mind that complements the big block engine nicely. Driving this 427 Corvette, one truly appreciates the capability these cars offer as affordable, historically significant, high performance road warriors. She shows 37,857 miles but is TMU.
