We are pleased to offer 1957 Chevrolet Corvette s/n 106241. This Corvette has a well-documented race history that goes back to the Santa Barbara road races in 1965. It has also been raced at the Monterey Historic races 13 times between 1979 and 2005, winning its class twice, in 1982 with Fred Yeakel driving and again in 1987 with Dick Guldstrand driving. Has a 1965–1966 SCCA B Production race history and a 1966–1967 NHRA/AHRA D Production Drag Racing history plus a long vintage racing history. One owner from 1965 to 2007 so forty-two well-raced and well-sorted years. Comes with four very detailed logbooks, from the SCCA, the Monterey Historics, VARA and SVRA. Corvette s/n 106241 is also one of the few Corvette race cars to be accepted into the Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame “Special Collection” in 2007, 14–17 June.

This is a very competent and well-sorted race car fitted with the same 1962 model Rochester Fuel Injection used on the car since 1965, a Borg-Warner T10 4-speed, Hurst shifter and the very rare “Elephant ear” big drum brakes with cooling ducts, finned drums, fans, segmented metallic linings and vented backing plates. Fitted with front and rear sway bars, a posi-traction rear end, a 1961 Corvette aluminum radiator, custom headers by Mike Ham, a fuel cell inside the original fuel tank, a scatter-shield bell housing and a block end plate. Fresh race engine by Doug Rippie Motorsports, Corvette preparation experts. Comes with full setup details and engine specifications. Only 2470 lbs with an almost perfect 52%-48% weight distribution. Has a Momo driver’s seat covered in the original waffle pattern material. Street titled and licensed, lights work, full instrumentation, a great, very fast and unique, if somewhat noisy, Sunday driver.

A proven race car since 1965 and very well maintained by two generations of Yeakels. Original windshield and hardtop included. Corvettes with long racing histories are among the very best collector cars and have the added advantage of being a lot of fun to own and race. This is a recognized, long-term raced example with a fuelie engine. An inexpensive to own and operate, well-sorted and dependable ticket to the Monterey Historics and many other vintage events and it will certainly be welcomed at next year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which will salute Corvette. Stomp your neighbor’s Tour de France into absolute oblivion at 1/25th the price!
