Subject: RE: a Ferrari
Friend of mine, the currant owner, wants to sell his 74 Dino and I referred him to you…
2000, 31 July, as per e–mail from the acquaintance:
First, the Dino facts as I know them: the current owner bought the car last year. I believe it is a 1974 GTS with chairs and a very recent restoration. I have not seen it since it has been in the shop for 95% of the time he has owned it. I think he paid $100. He has poured more restoration bucks into it since. No clue on his ask. He would probably be interested in your valuation. My guess is that you will hear from his assistant shortly. I think his current plan (if you want to call it that) is to park it on consignment at Ferrari of Los Gatos.
2000, 17 Aug., as per e–mail from the currant owner’s assistant:
The VIN number is 8498. I’ll check out the website this morning and give you a call.
2000, 31 Aug., inspected by M. Sheehan. Red/tan with black Daytona stripes on the seats. Has a/c and p/w. Ran very well. 2nd gear syncro a little rough when cold but fine when warm. Extremely good body and paint. Not a door dent or a nick on the car. 68,879 miles. A/c in dash fan is very noisy. Oversize tires so the fronts rub when cornering at full lock.
