We are pleased to offer this 1984 European model 308 GTS QV s/n 48375, a fully serviced, and well documented one-US-owner Ferrari.
The Ferrari 308 GTS QV s/n 48375 comes with a well-documented ownership history and paper trail, starting with the warranty card showing S.A. Automobiles in Meyrin Switzerland as the selling dealer from new. In November of 1983, Swiss resident J. Levin purchased the vehicle for the sole purpose of an investment. J. Levin never titled the vehicle but his name is noted on the original warranty card as the initial purchaser. J. Levin knew that there was a strong market in the US for euro model cars, and so Levin immediately sold and exported s/n 48375 to the US. In early 1984 s/n 48375 was certified to US EPA and DOT standards by Ferrari Compliance, in Santa Ana California, and was then sold to the current owner in August, 1984. S/n 48375 has a coveted California BAR (Bureau of Automobile Repair) Compliant Label and so is California registered and titled. The Ferrari is accompanied with the original full set of books including the owner’s carrying pouch, the original tool roll with a complete set of tools, the jack kit, and the thin-line spare wheel and tire. Today s/n 48375 has only 9,358 miles and has just been treated to a full major service including cam-belts, four new Michelin TRX tires, a current compression and leak down test, and much more, with an investment of $18,876.97. Copy on file, e-mail us for a PDF.When introduced by Ferrari, the quattrovalvole engine (literally meaning “four valves” in Italian) pushed the engine power up to 240 hp, this increase in engine power restored all of the engine performance that was previously lost to the emission control equipment, in the earlier model 308. The QV featured a slim louvred panel in the front lid to aid radiator exhaust air to exit, power operated mirrors, and a redesigned front grille with rectangular driving lights on each side. Thanks to the improved horsepower and the easy-to-shift gearbox, this is a wonderfully driving 308 GTS QV. The gearbox syncros work smoothly, the clutch is light to use but grips quickly and the car can be thrown into corners with total ease and confidence, due to the great handling characteristics. Performance through the RPM range is excellent and a thrill, thanks to the smooth power and torque curve of the final evolution of the 308 GTS engine.
The body on 48375 is exceptionally straight and dent free. The Rosso Corsa paint (FER 300/c) is in excellent condition, for a 36-year old Ferrari. There is no evidence of accident or rust repairs to the body, underside, or the chassis. The body, paint, and the interior are all original and in good condition. The trim, gaskets, window glass and lenses are also in good condition. The much more attractive and much lighter European bumpers are excellent with no discoloration, however there is a vertical crack that is easily repairable, near the center of the rear bumper. The interior is finished in nice original tan leather, the door panels, carpets and dash are also all in good condition with some wear to the driver’s seat bolster as you would expect from a 36 year old car. This 308 QV makes excellent power, has excellent oil pressure and runs cool in traffic. .
308 GTS QV s/n 48375 has just completed a major service by Dugan Enterprises in Oceanside, CA. This 308 QV comes with a voluminous service and ownership file, the warranty card with the original owner’s name, the owner’s carrying pouch and all books, the tool roll and all tools and the jack kit. 308 GTS QV s/n 48375 is in very nice condition for a 36 year old, very low mile, one-owner Ferrari.
