We are pleased to offer 2001 Ferrari 6-speed 456 M GT serial number 125562, finished in elegant Nero Daytona with light tan Crema leather with Nero piping and fitted from new with aluminum colored brake calipers, ($867.00), piping in color on request, ($1,275) and a rare optional thin-line spare wheel and tire kit, ($731,00). This very clean 2001 USA Model 456 M GT 6-speed was sold new on 26 Sept., 2001 by Wide World of Cars, Spring Valley, NY by sales manager Mike Mastrangelo to a client in Pound Ridge, New York. In 2010 456 M GT s/n 125562 went to a second owner in Florida with 3,000 miles and then in 2015 to a third owner in New Canaan, CT with 8,000 miles. In 2017 s/n 125562 sold to a fourth owner in Bremerton, WA with 10,000 miles before going to the current owner in early 2021 with just over 10,000 miles. Today 456 M GT s/n 125562 has only 11,609 well documented miles and comes with the full set of original books in their pouch, complete with the warranty card showing the first buyer and a copy of the original window sticker of $229,848.00. Also comes with the full set of Factory tools in their leather carrying case plus the Factory supplied white gloves for changing tires and a spare set of keys with their remote. Unlike the earlier 456 GTs, 456 M GT s/n 125562 has great side window fit and both door windows operate flawlessly. We have service invoices on file back to the first owner. Clean Carfax, of course.

As the first of today’s Montezemolo-era cars, the original 456 GT was first introduced at the F40 Ferrari celebrations in Belgium in Sept. 1992. Billed as the spiritual replacement for the Daytona, the 456 GT was better described as the heir to the 365 GTC/4, combining the looks and performance of a two-seat berlinetta with comfort and occasional seating for four. Based on a traditional steel tube frame, but with an alloy body, the 456 received an electronically adjustable suspension with three user-selected settings, as well as speed-sensitive power steering. An all-new 5,474cc 65° V12 featured dry-sump lubrication, putting out 442 hp thanks to Bosch Motronic engine management. The 456 sprinted to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds, through the quarter mile in 13.4 seconds at 107.5 mph and on to a top speed of 186 mph, making the 456 GT the fastest 4-seat production car on the planet. The 456 GT also features Ferrari’s first road-going active aerodynamic device: a small spoiler that deployed from underneath the rear bumper.

In a dramatic change from the over-styled and “busy” lines of the then-contemporary Testarossa and 348, Pininfarina designed and built the very clean and uncluttered 456 GT body. The cockpit’s focus was on luxury, with full Connolly leather, fully adjustable seats and easy-to read gauges. Air-conditioning and heating were up to real-world standards and the comfortable and quiet cockpit made long journeys easy – at least for front-seat occupants. The interior’s refinement carried over to the driving experience. The V12’s output was seamless, ride quality was excellent and the controls were light. In 1998 the updated 456M (for Modificata) was introduced. The M received a light face-lift—the most noticeable changes were the deletion of hood vents in the now-carbon-fiber hood with the foglights set in the grille rather than the bumper—and a much more modern-feeling interior. While no more powerful on paper than the original 456 GT, the M felt faster in the real world. It was also more refined and better handling than its predecessor, thanks to the introduction of traction control and revised shock absorbers.

456 M GT s/n 125562 is mounted on a new set of 19″ Formula Dynamic wheels fitted with a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires 255/35 ZR19 front and 295/30 ZR 19 rear tires and also comes with the original 17″ Factory wheels, beautifully refinished, mounted on an excellent set of Pirelli P Zero 255/45 ZR 17″ tires. The exterior paint is in very good condition with only a few typical rock chips in the front spoiler and a few small chips next to the gas filler door. In Feb., of 2018 the seats were fitted with Daytona seat inserts done by world class Pebble Beach upholsterer John Parkhurst at a cost of $5,758.44 and so are “as-new”. The dash has shrinkage where the dash meets the passenger’s side dash-mounted airbag panel. The all-important power windows work perfectly! 456 M GT s/n 125562 offers the enthusiast an outstanding ownership value in a 6-speed, front-engine V12 Ferrari with the option of occasional seating for four!

The car is in very good cosmetic condition thanks to only 11,609 miles of use. The body is straight throughout with excellent panel fit and both sets of wheels and tires are excellent, with no curb rash. The glass, lights, trim and badges are all in excellent condition. The interior is also very nice as the seats were redone in 2018. All other leather is excellent and covers just about every surface; the console, the dashboard, the parcel shelf, the pillars, the door panels, the visors, and the headliner. The carpets are also excellent, as are the switches and instruments. The dash has shrinkage where the dash meets the passenger’s side dash-mounted airbag panel. The engine and engine compartment and trunk are all extremely tidy and original and the engine retains all its correct markings and decals.

Over the last year 456 M GT 6-spped s/n 125562 has been serviced extensively by Ferrari of Rancho Mirage, including a rebuild of the rear shocks for $1,200 at 10,550 miles; remove the fuel tank, replace the fuel pump, re-install the fuel tank, perform an annual oil and filter change and flush the brake fluid for $8,115.26 at 10,701 miles and adjust the door window and balance the wheels and tires for $1,256.25 at 10,934 miles. Four new Michelin Pilot Sport 255/35R19 front and 295/30 R19 rear tires were supplied by the Tire Rack. Only two months ago the Sports Car Garage in Palm Desert replace the coolant hose under the intake manifold plenum, replaced the thermostats and replaced the bypass hose for $1,894.63 at 11,569 miles.

Today 456 M GT s/n 125562 comes with the full set of seven owner’s handbooks, their leather carrying pouch, the original warranty book and warranty card listing the first owner. Also comes with the full set of Factory tools in their leather carrying case plus the Factory supplied white gloves for changing tires and a spare set of keys with their remote. Has a great sounding original Factory sound system. We have service invoices on file back to the first owner. Clean Carfax, of course. Thanks to its immense torque and smooth shifting six speed transaxle, 456 M GT are unquestionably the best bang for the buck in a modern three-pedal V-12 Ferrari, and especially for those who want to take small kids or pets along.
