2001, 6 June, e–mail from the seller:
Subject: Daytona vs. 330 GTC trade
Michael:
We have spoken briefly before via email. I have a 330 GTC (#9055) which I would consider a very good #2 car. Lee Stayton at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich has rebuilt the suspension, the transaxle, put in a new clutch and a new stainless steel exhaust system sourced from a company called TimeValve in Connecticut, via Jeff Ohlind at PartSource. Paint is average to good, as is the interior. Lee characterizes the engine as strong, with no leaks or smoke. I drive it about 3,000 to 4,000 miles a year on a regular basis and it has passed once (at least) through the metric odometer. I have an interest in a Daytona, although in a tan interior car, unlike the two you have listed. Can you give me a real world sense (understanding you haven’t seen the car) of what the 330 might be worth in partial trade vs. a Daytona? I have been offered a deal of $40 to $45K + the 330 for what I think is far from a good condition car, although correct and with low mileage, but don’t know if I can use this as a general benchmark. The asking price on the car I was offered was $129K. Thanks, look forward to hearing from you. Former owner.
2001, 24 June, Hartford Concorso Ferrari. Bushnell Park, Hartford, CT. Red/tan. Seller.
2001, 18 July, as per call from the seller, time to market and sell the car. Let’s make it happen.
2001, 19 July, sent the seller info on this 330 GTC, his last 330 GTC and his last 246 GTS.
2001, 20 July, the seller answered as follows:
Subject:Re: 330 GTC s/n 9055
… Does the CIA know about you? I was especially bummed to see the car had been brown, then black, then red within a five year period. And also that the gearbox had been rebuilt in ’95. I am a little dubious about the quality of that one, because the synchros were useless five years later, and ain’t my driving style. Peter Sweeney was here today, I believe he found the car as I described it, mechanically good, frequently used, tight steering, gearbox, etc. He seemed to like it. Thanks for all the information, I am looking forward taking photos tomorrow and getting them off to you. I have located and catalogued all repairs since purchase, totaling (gulp) $39,000. The seller.
2001, 21 July, e–mailed a very good source, keeper of the Luigi Chinetti Motors (NART) records and archives and asked for any info on 246 GTS s/n 6132 and/or 330 GTCs 9055 and 9237.
2001, 21 July, as per e–mail from the very good source, the Luigi Chinetti Motors files have no record of this 330 GTC. Have records on the other cars.
2001, 30 July, as per Peter Sweeney:
It looks great from 10 feet, but… it is “a driver”. Worst cosmetic feature is the engine compartment, interior is decent but not great, paint is not bad, but … it’s a driver. The transaxle is very good, fresh. He has had wholesale offers of $XX,000. Has A.C., has P.W..
2001, 11 Aug., for sale in FML by M. Sheehan.

Have not received the hard copies as of 11.30 Friday morning. Spoke to Peter Sweeney and have got a mechanic named Bill Pollard who will do the analysis. I am trying to get hold of Tom Harrow to see if he can take the car to Bill Pollards workshop. Have left message on his cell phone. If you do speak please ask him to contact at … his portable…
2001, 23 Aug., e–mail from the seller:
Subject: 330 GTC
Mike:
Bill Pollard spent about 4 hours this morning going over the car with me on behalf of a potential buyer from your efforts (don’t have his name handy). I think it was pretty positive— he agreed with the extent and quality of work done on the car. One cylinder had somewhat low compression (110 psi, with 18% leak down) all others in the 125+ range. No other significant issues. I expect to get a bid within a few days, and will contact you to run it by you.
2001, 24 Aug., four prospects to date.
